About Us

The Discover Dolls International shows, are organised by Cathy Read formerly of Discover Dolls Magazine. The shows were set up to run alongside the magazine, and now that the magazine is run by Lisa Pybus as Discovering Dolls and Crafts, we continue to run our shows in association with her wonderful publication.

Our first doll show was in Peterborough in June 2007, and we introduced a new show in Manchester in August 2010. Unfortunatly the Manchester venue is no longer available, but we are introducing a fantastic new venue in Cheshire in 2012. In February 2011 we held our very first show at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood, Essex which was a wonderful sucess and will be even bigger this year!.

Since the show began it has gone from strength to strength rapidly becoming one of biggest reborn doll shows in Europe. Both artists, exhibitors and visitors travel from all over the world to attend the event, and each year we have seen the quality and diversity of the stands and the work upon them improve exponentially.

In 2010, we decided to increase the June doll show in Peterborough to a two day event. This was due in part to the fact that we have such high visitor numbers, a two day event spread them out a little to ease crowding, and make the show a more enjoyable experience for our visitors. It also gives artist the chance to exhibit on one day or the other, thus enabling more individuals to display their work over the two days. We will also be introducing a lot more workshops, including a brand new photography workshop which will take place on the Saturday of the show.

As well as reborn and baby dolls, we try and encourage as much other original doll art to the show as we can, to maintain a diversity.

At the Doll Shows you will be able to see and buy reborn babies, reborn and doll making supplies, OOAK sculpts, silicone and resin babies, cloth dolls, ball jointed dolls, dolls houses and miniatures, designer and hand made baby clothes, dolls clothes, knitted items, teddy bears, limited edition and collectible dolls, play dolls, magazines, DVD's and much much more!

We encourage artists to display their own work so this is often a chance to see the artists themselves, maybe have kits signed or buy an OOAK of your own!

We have chosen the Holiday Inn in Peterborough and Brentwood due to their large spacious halls, reasonable accommodation rates, easy parking, easy access and reachable location.
